C.G. Sparks becomes founding member of SFC
 

C.G. Sparks is pleased to become a founding member of the Sustainable Furniture Council.  The Sustainable Furniture Council (SFC) is an industry-wide group of manufacturers, retailers, and environmentally-conscious advocacy groups, that have united to lead the furniture industry into a more eco-friendly direction.  C.G. Sparks’ own Michael Hennessey has been selected to co-chair the education committee on the SFC. “This organization is crucial for the furniture industry to have as a resource.” Michael said, “The industry has a huge impact on the use of resources, from wood, chemicals, and steel, to one of the largest contributors to CO2 gas from the transportation of product.  Consumers are looking for furniture that fits their ever-‘greening’ lifestyle and the furniture industry has been late in responding. SFC has stepped into make these crucial changes.”

C.G. Sparks Achieves Visionaries Status

C.G. Sparks has become the newest member of the of the 'Visionaries' level with the Blue Sky Project from Rocky Mountain Power. CG Sparks has commited to purchase wind power blocks to neutralize 100% of the carbon output generated by power usage, buying trips abroad as well as the freight costs associated with bring products from overseas to the Salt Lake City Warehouse.

The 'Blue Sky' program is available to most of the home and business customers of Rocky Mountain Power. In a related event, C.G. Sparks won it's divisions 'Curb Your Car' commuter contest sponsored by the UTA Rideshare program.

ABC's Extreme Makeover Visits Showroom

The ABC television series 'Extreme Makeover: Home Edition' which showcases a total transformation of a family's home in a matter of days incorporated items from C.G. Sparks in their episode featuring the Pauni family of Logan, Utah. C.G. Sparks founder Chrisanne Olsen shot a segment with designer Tracy Hutson at the C. G. Sparks showroom in Salt Lake. The segment included the two discussing various pieces that were showcased in the Pauni home. C.G. Sparks is proud to have donated several pieces to a show that is doing such a great service to communities across the United States.

C.G. Sparks Open House

C.G. Sparks annual open house was an enormous success. Tipping the scales at a whopping 450 people. C.G. Sparks in concert with Decoration Inc., and Lortsher & Vlasic Catering were able to create a spectacular vibe. Decoration created a rich, luscious display that was truly inspirational for the upcoming holidays. Lortsher & Vlasic Catering provide a superb assortment of food with a simple Indian flair. All that attended were treated to a great set from DJ Chris Gawel. We were able to raise over $1000 for the Nepal Cleft and Burn Center.
